Practice Golf Like a Pro - Golf Pro Practice TipPlan Golf Practice for Maximum Benefit, Learn From all Practice Shot
Practice with a purpose. Many golfers waste time hitting balls aimlessly on the range. Get maximum benefit from your golf practice with discipline and goal setting.
Most golfers turn up to the range and hit balls with good intentions, but all too often they waste their time and in many cases walk off disillusioned with their form. Learn to practice properly with a plan so that every shot counts and you start to see an improvement. Plan your Practice Sessions
Hitting the golf ball well takes more effort than most people think. Many muscles become involved when turning and twisting the body and unless you have taken time to stretch your turn will be restricted. Don’t hurry your practice session. Too many golfers hit shot after shot without a pause - give your body time to recover between shots. Half way through the session loosen up your shoulders doing some simple neck rolls. Practice Like a ProWhilst a professional has more talent than a club golfer, there is no reason why they should practice differently. With family responsibilities and business worries it is difficult to concentrate solely on golf, but, although it sounds impractical, if you can turn off your mobile for half an hour it will help. Practice sessions should have a rhythm. If friends are constantly interrupting you the feedback you should get from each shot becomes diluted. If you can’t concentrate because of interruptions, practise something that needs little effort like chip shots and pitching. If you continue to hit balls while not concentrating you will only be practicing faults. Work your Way Through the BagIt is understandable to reach for the driver but it is essential you work your way through the bag from the wedge, to the mid irons and then to the woods. This has little to do with stretching and warming up. This is a necessary discipline to correct faults as you build up the length of the swing. If you start off with a full swing there is no way to know at what point a fault is creeping in. Stick with your Plan and Learn from Every ShotUnless you are interrupted you should stick with your practice plan to the end, and never go and buy another bag of balls out of frustration. By far the most important aspect of practising for maximum benefit is the disciplined attitude of the golfer. Stick to the plan, don't hurry and you will learn from every shot.
